The Cisco AS5350 Universal Gateway is a one rack unit gateway supporting two, four, or eight T1/seven-port E1 configurations that provides universal port data, voice, and fax services on any port at any time. The AS5350 offers high performance and high reliability in a compact, modular design. This cost-effective platform is ideally suited for Internet service providers (ISPs) and enterprises that require innovative universal services. The Cisco AS5350 Universal Gateway eliminates the need for switches and routers to create a point of presence (POP) or "POP-in-a-box" solution. The Cisco ASAP architecture is based on universal DSP technology. The universal DSP can execute multiple coder/decoder (codec) and modem algorithms on any DSP at any time.
